“Snowflakes” See the handmade snowflakes decorating the Visitors Center tree.  Esther Papenfus, of the Foothills Art Center, has again a tree full of beautiful snowflakes.

Miners Alley Playhouse Presents: A Tuna Christmasthe hilarious sequel to the hit comedy, about the citizens of Tuna, Texas the third smallest town in the state, where the Lion’s Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies.  24 hours before Christmas the citizens try to cope with seasonal traumas, disaster prone little theatre production of A Christmas Carol and a yard decorating contest being sabotaged by a mysterious Christmas phantom!  Bring the whole family and join in the holiday fun!  303-935-3044.

The Holiday Art Market at Foothills Art Center

at 809 15th Street is back for its 33rd year.   The 2007 Holiday Art Market is an art-filled wonderland.  This exhibition and sale offers a diverse range of fine art and craft by over 180 artists.  With a dazzling selection of ceramics, jewelry, stained glass, hand blown glass, turned wood, paintings, fiber art and much, much more.  Monday to Saturday 10:00am to 5:00pm.  303-279-3922.

 

November 30  (Friday)

Dress Festive For The Candlelight Walk!

Gather at 6:00pm at 15th and Arapahoe Streets, for caroling.  Hot beverages will be served by the Golden Lions Club at the top of the hill as well as after the Candlelight Walk at the bottom of the hill at the Golden Visitors Center.  The Golden Chamber of Commerce will be selling candles for 50 cents.  The Walk will begin at 6:30pm.  After the Candlelight Walk, the Golden Visitors Center will be serving hot beverages compliments of Golden Lions Club. Cookies and Eggnog compliments of the Golden Safeway and toys from Golden McDonalds.  Live Reindeer for petting will be in the parking lot, along with a puppet show by Le Chock.   Hot Gourmet Coffee compliments of Luna Gourmet Coffee and Tea Company. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided at several businesses and cultural facilities. 303-279-3113.

Golden Visitors Center Holiday Stage will kick off  at 6:50pm with the Sassy Kids of radio station 107 FM.  After an intermission of 20 minutes, they will resume dancing at 7:30pm.

 

Golden Community Center Dance Arts Christmas Fest by Joy Eagan will perform at 7:15pm in front of the Golden Visitors Center on the Holiday Stage.  303-384-8100.

Come see the Grinches and Whozits who stole Olde Golden Christmas perform at 7:00pm to 8:00pm.

 

Clear Creek History Park and Astor House Museum

Stroll through the Clear Creek History Park and Astor House Museum as you take part in the Golden Candlelight Walk.  From the Golden Visitor Center, walk west up the creek path to the Clear Creek History Park and watch traditional Scandinavian dancers and warm yourself with hot chocolate and cookies at our campfire. Look inside a historic cabin and one-room schoolhouse. Then walk one block south on Arapahoe St. to the Astor House Museum, on the corner of 12th and Arapahoe, and meet President Teddy Roosevelt, who will be doing recitations of "Twas the Night Before Christmas."  Strolling Victorian Carolers will also be stopping by to sing for you. Enjoy our festive Victorian holiday décor throughout the House and check out unique Victorian Gifts in our gift shop. Leadership Golden Ornament Signing:  Signed ornaments by artist Pat Conrad of Golden will be available at the Golden Visitors Center, 1010 Washington Avenue. This year's ornaments are $8.00, and they are of Buffalo Bill Cody.  Past ornaments will be for sale at $8.00.  7:00pm to 8:30pm.

Colorado School Of Mines Concert Choir PresentsA Messiah-Sing-Along
